Barbie Doll Cake

Let's pretend the lumps in her dress are lots of tulle! I may or may not have jammed her in so hard her feet came out the bottom of the cake, and I may or may not have half exploded the top layer, but she still came out darlin'. Happy 7th birthday, Kaitlyn!

The Haunted Corporate Anniversary Cake

As a cakesmith, it was bound to happen that I'd encounter a haunted cake eventually. This was mine. Everything that could go wrong with it went wrong. The awesome 2-toned steam train crumbled into avogadro's number of pieces, the maroon lettering turned out purple, the cake didn't rise, I ran out of frosting, and to boot, I bumped my head putting it in the fridge.

After this delightful piece of craftsmanship (pictured below) crumbled, I used my son's Thomas and Friends book as a model to freehand a stencil for the fondant cutout. So basically, the fine establishment celebrating its anniversary got Thomas the Tank Engine on its cake!
