After this delightful piece of craftsmanship (pictured below) crumbled, I used my son's Thomas and Friends book as a model to freehand a stencil for the fondant cutout. So basically, the fine establishment celebrating its anniversary got Thomas the Tank Engine on its cake!

The Haunted Corporate Anniversary Cake
As a cakesmith, it was bound to happen that I'd encounter a haunted cake eventually. This was mine. Everything that could go wrong with it went wrong. The awesome 2-toned steam train crumbled into avogadro's number of pieces, the maroon lettering turned out purple, the cake didn't rise, I ran out of frosting, and to boot, I bumped my head putting it in the fridge.

Happy 40th Anniversary Mom & Dad!
My mom and I were making plans to go to lunch and do Saturdayish things, when she mentioned in passing that today is her and my dad's anniversary. My immediate thought was "must produce instant cake!" So in 15 min. I threw together this little vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream and raspberry filled gem using ye olde wilton class 2 pans. In keeping with the wilton theme, I piped on some old school fleur de lises, reverse shells and horribly executed chocolate roses using too-soft icing. Happy 40th anniversary Mom & Dad!

Parrot Cake
My now-famous chocolate cake bedecked with a rather large parrot and a rainforest scene!
This is before I put any of the doodads on it:
